The House passed the "health care" bill. Once again, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi broke her promise to post the bill on the Web for 72 hours before it was voted on.

I challenge anyone out there who supports this bill to explain why.  I also challenge you to show where in the Constitution the Federal Government has the authority to implement this policy, especially the authority to require me to purchase a product as a condition of my very existence.

Take your time.  I'll wait.

oh, the mandatory option is in there?

Well, that tears it.

I have a dumb-ass question: how the cornbread hell do they expect to enforce it?

If they intend to do so at gunpoint, or any moral equivalent thereof, I intend to return fire, both accurately and in volume.

From the looks of things, that stupid pant amendment they put on not-quite-oulawing abortion has basically killed the bill in the senate. Which frankly is probably a relief to a very diverse majority of people....

It restricts access *financially* - no provider who takes federal money *at all* (which would presumably be the majority of them) may fund said other than for medical necessity. Which means that basically the *only* people providing abortions are going to be Planned Parenthood and anyone willing to not suck off the federal teat whatsoever.

I gotta rant brewing...
