Stalking the 'Net Fantastic

It looks like Duke Nukem Forever, the fourth installment in the Duke Nukem PC game franchise that has been in development for 12 years at 3D Realms, has finally been killed for real.  According to Shacknews and Gamasutra, 3D Realms has been shut down.  No further development on the game is being funded, though Take Two says it retains the publishing rights to the game.

Although there is a nonzero probability that development will restart and the game eventually released, it's probably infinitesimal.
